This is a part-time position (16-24 hours a week) with opportunity for advancement and increasing responsibility. Responsibilities include: * Assistance with overall strategic planning and design of fundraising and marketing efforts * Assistance with writing and editing copy for fundraising appeals * Assistance with identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individuals capable of contributing major gifts * Grant research, application preparation, and reporting * Logistical support for fundraising events * Donor stewardship and support, including online giving and monthly giving programs * Managing donations database and files * Processing donations and acknowledgments * Preparation of spreadsheets and fundraising reports. * General office support, including correspondence and telephone calls

We’re looking for someone with: * Nonprofit organization experience, ideally in the areas of development, marketing, and research * Strong enthusiasm for nonprofit feminist media work * A solid working background with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Filemaker Pro * Excellent interpersonal skills; skilled at working both independently and collaboratively * Excellent oral and written communication skills * The ability to assess and address priorities efficiently, take initiative, and follow through on projects and to think strategically * A highly organized and detail-oriented work style

Some things you should know: * Pay is between $14 and $15 per hour, plus monthly commuter checks * Bitch has a small staff (three full time and four part time people) and a very informal office environment * Our office is in downtown Oakland, in between the 12th and 19th St. BART stations

Please send your resume and a brief cover letter to 1611 Telegraph Ave. Suite 515, Oakland, CA 94612, or by email to job@bitchmagazine.com. No phone calls (no, no!)
