Maybe it’s because I never grew up that I still think of great radio as the top radio talent that existed when I was young. My fondest memory of the medium then was Jean Shepherd, probably the greatest radio raconteur ever and several galaxies’ distant from Stern in comic style.
Well, yeah. But there are many ways to be good on the radio and elsewhere. If I were the praying type, I’d pray that God stop me from becoming one of those people who complain that everything sucks now and can’t hold a candle to the way things used to be.
