Gains? Those don’t seem likely; Zarqawi will be forgotten in a week,
and despite CA-50, the polls still look awful for the Reps.
But Greider’s an excitable guy - quick to perceive a crisis of any
kind. If it isn’t Deflation! it’s Legitimation Crisis! I don’t know
that people are totally on board with the reigning economic ideology
but they’re either resigned to it or don’t think much about these
things at all.
