salary corrections
Sorry, that average postsecondary teaching salary I quoted earlier
was the median; I misread the table. The 8% difference probably
comes from the fact that the survey sources are different.
By the way, the source is the BLS’s annual review of earnings by
occupation and sex http://www.bls.gov/cps/cpswom2005.pdf. The
average female postsecondary teacher earns 79% as much as a male.
