For what was unraveling was the whole idea of the Palestine nation
itself. Of course, some said, “I told you so.” (I count myself among
those entitled to say that.) I was never taken in by the dream of
Palestine, although I realized that Israeli dominion over so many
Arabs did somewhat dim the incandescence of the Zionist reality….
